Asley Gulaid is a Summer Associate with Avivar Capital's Strategic Advisory Services Group. She recently earned her MBA from the University of Michigan's Ross School of Business, where she focused on impact investing and served as both a Dean's Fellow and Toigo Fellow.

During business school, Asley interned with the Lumina Foundation, supporting sourcing and due diligence for mission- and program-related investments, and with New Market Venture Partners, where she supported growth strategy for a portfolio company. She also co-led the Robert Toigo Foundation's team in the Turner MIINT Impact Investing Competition.

Prior to business school, Asley began her career as a Teach For America corps member in Memphis before joining the Southern Education Foundation, where she managed leadership development programs for education leaders across the South.

A first-generation Somali American, Asley was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is passionate about leveraging capital to expand access and opportunity for underserved communities. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new coffee shops, collecting sneakers, and making sure she gets at least 10,000 steps each day.
