Julio Arantes is a Vice President at Avivar Capital and is a financial analyst with experience in various asset classes and sectors. Julio spent over 8 years in the research branch of J.P. Morgan, first as an equity analyst focused on publicly-traded securities and later acting primarily as the lead credit analyst for several sectors and large-cap corporations in Latin America, providing investment recommendations, industry analysis and strategy insights in published reports, presentations and conferences. In such roles, he worked closely with asset managers, executives and corporations, in addition to government officials and industry experts. He also assisted with investor education processes for numerous equity and credit offerings conducted by the firm. In the non-profit space, Julio served as a collaborator with FC Harlem (community youth development organization, promoting education through group sports) for five years and currently is a regional director of Ser Tão Grande Institute, a program that grants scholarships to underserved students in the countryside of Brazil. Julio holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from FGV-EAESP, with a major in finance. He is a native Brazilian and is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
