Avivar Capital Internship Program

Join Avivar to help invest capital that earns strong returns and builds resilient, inclusive economies for communities and investors. We invite you to a 10–12 week paid internship where you'll get hands-on experience and practical skills to advance your academic and professional goals.

  • Avivar’s internship program offers a hands-on, immersive experience for graduate and advanced undergraduate students interested in sustainable finance, impact investing, and community development, providing practical exposure to real projects and mentorship from experienced professionals.

Interns work closely with investment, research, and operations teams on real projects that support financial inclusion, small business lending, and climate-resilient solutions.

  • Avivar Capital offers interns a focused, professional environment where learning is structured, responsibilities are meaningful, and impact is measurable. We offer:

    • Real-world experience across impact investing: Interns engage directly with deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, portfolio monitoring, and impact measurement—gaining practical skills used across the impact investing lifecycle.

    • Mentorship and professional development: Each intern is paired with experienced investment team mentor who provide regular feedback and structured goals. Training includes technical skills, sector knowledge, and professional communications.

    • Hands-on responsibility: Interns work on active client projects and contribute to deliverables that inform investment decisions and portfolio management. Assignments are designed so interns see how their work moves outcomes forward.

    • Exposure to interdisciplinary work: Avivar’s approach combines finance, social impact, and field-level insight. Interns collaborate with investment professionals, impact analysts, and external partners to understand both financial returns and social outcomes.

    • Strong support for career pathways: Avivar prioritizes helping interns build networks and resumes for future roles in impact investing, sustainable finance, nonprofit management, and public policy. Performance-based recommendations and introductions are provided.

    • Values-driven culture: The firm’s mission-focused orientation means interns work in a purpose-aligned environment where decision-making balances financial discipline with measurable social and environmental impact.

From my experience I learned more than I could have ever hoped to and was rewarded not only with knowledge of investments but also that of making a difference across the U.S. Specifically, I realized that a market exists where an understanding for numbers can be matched with a passion for helping others. [...]. I have never felt more welcomed by a group of individuals who acted as both career and life mentors.
